Where can I buy the Hegel H2A
mk2?
Please check the "How to Buy" section.
Is the Hegel H2A mk2 available in different colors?
The Hegel products are available in the standard "Pearl silver" colour. The finish is made by
blasting the solid Aluminium front panel with tiny glass particles and anodizing the surface.
Knobs, side panels and top cover are brushed anodized silver.
Can the Hegel H2A mk2 be used with other Pre Amplifiers than the Hegel P2A
mk2 and the P4A mk2?
All the different Hegel units has got a neutral sound signature, so that they can be used together
with other high quality audio units from different manufacturers. However we recommend you to listen
to a combination of a H2A mk2 and a P2A
mk2, since this combination has got a very high performance in this
price range.
Is the Hegel H2A mk2 true balanced?
The balanced inputs of the H2A
mk2 are as all the other Hegel units using true electronically balanced inputs.
Is the patented SoundEngine amplifier
technology used in the Hegel H2A
mk2?
The H2A mk2 is using the new and
improved version of the patented
Hegel SoundEngine technology.
The SoundEngine modules are laser trimmed to an extremely low distortion.
The power
amplifier part of the H2A mk2 is
based upon technology from the
Hegel H4A mk2 reference power
amplifier.
What is the difference between the H2A
mk2 and the H200?
The main difference is that the H2A
mk2 is a dedicated power
amplifier, while the H200 is an
integrated amplifier.
The H2A mk2 has got the
possibility for true balanced
operation together with a true
balanced pre amplifier like the
Hegel P2A mk2. This gives the
P2A mk2 / H2A mk2 combination an even better resolution, dynamic range and power control than
the H200.
What is the power consumption
of the Hegel H2A mk2?
Because of the SoundEngine
technology used in the H2A mk2,
there is no need to run a high
bias current in the output stage
of the amplifier. The H2A mk2 will as all the other Hegel
amplifiers use a minimum of
power in standby mode when it is
not playing music. The H2A mk2
will use about 60W of power in
standby mode, the same as a normal
light bulb.
