With its 250 watts per channel, it is powerful enough to pair with even the most demanding loudspeakers on the market. Hegel's patented SoundEngine technology ensures completely undistorted and natural sound with a dynamic and powerful bass response. The H300 is, to a large extent, based on Hegel's Reference products rather than its smaller brothers. On the other side, it has 5 digital inputs and this is where the alchemy comes in. Hegel's digital inputs are designed with unique technology that can make your computer, streamer or other digital device sound extremely good. You can take some of the most affordable digital music players on the market, connect them to the H300's digital inputs, and get musical and dynamic sound.
The secret lies in how we receive, treat and re-build these digital signals in the H300's built-in DAC. The digital side of the H300 is also future-proof as you can upgrade it using our "DAC-loop". Our claim is that aside from a good pair of loudspeakers, the H300 may be the only "audiophile" component you need in your system. On the technical side, the H300 uses the hand-matched FET transistors, normally only seen in Hegel's most esoteric power amplifiers. This dramatically reduces, or even eliminates, higher-order harmonic distortion, resulting in more resolution and a smoother sound. It normally requires about 100 transistors to find one perfect pair.
The biggest step forward is the preamplifier stage. The high quality dual-mono construction borrows several ideas from our top of the line pre amplifier. This ensures the lowest possible noise and distortion levels. The H300 uses what we call the Hegel 2 amplifier platform. This platform ensure very good channel separation and low noise levels. Still, all sections in the H300 are designed ground up specifically for this unit and is far superior to any other integrated amplifier from Hegel. The H300 has a wide range of both analog and digital inputs. It has a fixed-level Home Theater input that allows you to integrate it in a Home Theater system. If you are using advanced remote control systems, you can also control it directly through the direct IR inputs on the back panel.
